How do I change Windows Update settings as administrator?
Click the Windows Start button.Then click on “Settings”.Then select Accounts.Select Family and other users.In the Other Lovers section, click on your user account.Then select Change account type.From the Change Account Range drop-down list, select Administrator.
In this situation, Windows will automatically download the installation, as well as new updates without your knowledge, and, moreover, you do not know when and what Windows updates are installed. If you are limitedinformation or a slow internet connection, you can adjust the settings to work with Windows to warn you before downloading and installing updates. This way, you have a chance – for example, to choose which updates you want and when they should be installed.
Here are two methods you can use to remove the sysadmin restriction from the Windows Update Settings page:
STEP One: in the Run or Start Research window, type gpedit.msc, then click OK, perhaps press [Enter].
STEP 2. When the Group Policy Editor window opens, navigate to: Computer Configuration> Administrative Templates> Components Window> Windows Update.
Step 3. In the “Settings” column on the right side, find “Automatic Configuration Updates”.
STEP 4. Double click on it and set it to On.
STEP 5. Now choose one of the following options according to your needs:
- 2 – Notify me and download notifications for installation.
- 3 – Automatic notificationno and download to find the installation.
- 4 – Automatically prepare and download for installation.
- 5 – Allow local administration to choose setting.
NOTE. Select the “Work for” option (5 – setting may be localized) to select options from the drop-down list on the Windows Update settings page.

STEP 6. Click “Apply” to save the changes.

How do I fix Windows updates are disabled by the administrator?
In the left pane, expand User Configuration, and then expand Administrative Templates. Expand Windows Components, and then click Windows Update. In the right pane, right-click Remove Access to use all the features of Windows Update, and then click Properties. Click Disabled, click Apply, then Visitors, OK.
STEP 3. Create a new key that doesn’t actually look like a Windows key, and then set it as WindowsUpdate.
STEP 4. Just create another new key in Windows Update and then set the name of the kato AU.
How do you enable Windows Update if it is disabled?
Usually the Windows icon in the lower left corner of the screen is selected. Click the gear icon in settings. Scroll down to Settings and pause Update & Security. In this Update & Security window, click Check for Updates, if necessary.

STEP 5. Select the AU Key Element, then get a new DWORD AUOptions on the right side and associate its value with one of the following currently values as per your needs:

- 3 – to automatically receive and inform you about the installation.
- 4 – For automatic download and installation planning.
- 5 – so the local administrator can select an option.
NOTE. Set the AUOptions to 5 so that it appears in the selection options in the drop-down list on the Windows Update Options page.

STEP 6. Close the Registry Editor Launch window, and then open the Windows Update configuration page.
