Over the past few days, some of our users have encountered an error message that said, “Windows Update Net Stop Wuauserv failed.” This problem can occur for many reasons. We will review them below.
Windows Update is a useful process for the Windows operating system that allows you to maintain keep your system up to date and keep it running at its best at all times. If you regularly miss important updates, your computer may also run slower or even freeze. Therefore, it is important that Windows Update features work correctly in all situations. However, sometimes Windows Feature Update may not work properly and users may receive error messages while downloading or installing updates, resulting in wall update bricks being installed. Method 1: Using The Command Line
Step 1: Press the Win + R keys at the same time to open the Run command window.
Step 2: In the Run Command search box, type cmd and press Ctrl + Shift + Enter hotkey to open Command Prompt with administrative privileges.
Step 3. At the command prompt, run the following commands in sequence and press Enter:

Step 4: Now right-click the Start menu and select Windows PowerShell (Admin).
Step 5. In the Windows Powershell (Admin) window, type the following command and press Enter:
When you’re done, restart this PC and try updating your company’s Windows. Everything should work fine at this point.
Method 2: Run The Windows Troubleshooter
Step 1. Press the secret key Win + R on your keyboard to open the command in full size.
Step 2: Type control.exe /name Microsoft.Troubleshooting in the Run Query search box and press Enter to open the Troubleshooting section in each configuration window.
Step 3: On the Troubleshoot page of the Settings window, scroll down and to the right and select Advanced Troubleshooters.
Step 4. In the next window, in the “Getting Started” section, click “Windows Updatews” and select “Run the Windows troubleshooter itself”
Now start checking for problems and if they are found frequently, they will be fixed automatically.
Method 3: Run The Windows Update Troubleshooter On A Clean Boot
With this method, you must first put your bootable PC into a clean boot state.
Step 1: Once launched, right-click and select Run to open the Run command window.
Step 2: In the Run command window, format msconfig in the search field and press Enter to open the system configuration utility.
Step 3: In the System Configuration window, select the General tab.
Can I stop Wuauserv?
With wuauserv’s PID determined, we can try to stop it from the command line. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL and click Task Manager. Click on the Services tab. Find wuauserv and note down the PID.
Select the radio button type next to Selective Startup Enterprise and uncheck the box next to Load Startup Items. Check the box
There is now a text box next to Load system services and also use the original launch configuration.
How do I fix Windows could not start the Wuauserv service on local computer?
Check service dependencies.Start the Background Intelligent Transfer Service and Cryptographic Services.Reset the Windows Update component.Run the Windows Update troubleshooter.Edit the Windows registry.

Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+Esc with short keystrokes to open the Task Manager utility.You can also use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Alt+Del and select “Task Manager” from the blue screen that pops up with multiple options.

Step 2. In the search box, type cmd while pressing Ctrl, Shift + Enter on your keyboard.
A much bigger step: open a command prompt in administrator mode. In the command prompt window, run the command described in the following sections:

Method 2: Recovery Options
Step 1. Press the Win + I key combination on your personal keyboard to open the settings window. 2.
