After cursing the SharePoint draft for a while (it’s definitely a love-hate issue), I analyzed and found a really extreme blog entry (http://share-point.blogspot.com/2010/03/moss-unknown-error-discovery .html). When I realized that I needed to change the environment’s production web config file, I either reconciled your current change control with the production environment or waited for approval to proceed with the change.
I checked it again on the blog and saw that the mention of this was the reason for the removal of the page, but for some reason the navigation was not removed from it. My brain being undesignedReader, thrashing about trying to figure out how to find out which exit page might have been removed – ask the site owner? not to sell. Throw them garbage here? nothing. Site collection cart? There is nothing either.
How about an audit report? ran the report and noticed that the page was recently deleted. I then recreated the page altogether and the error went away. I’ve been able to customize the navigation site settings to exceed the user’s business needs. PROBLEM SOLVED!
No, it’s not actually “debugging”, but I decided to give it a try, as I was able to resolve a production environment issue on a busy non-Monday, requiring a few changes to the server or management. Navigate to the Enable log audit reports for Temp site collection setting. -> Site Collection Administration -> Analysis Site Collection Settings.
