Well, the format seems to end up with Indio 5.x, which was misread by MPlayer as it was usually switched to XAnim to handle Indio (indio5xa codec). To fix problems with default XAnim settings (which _pas_ Indio codecs …) I had to download a replacement for MPlayer due to Indio XAnim codecs. uh

After a few aimless links and unnecessary recompilation, I had a version with XAnim that recognized long codec support, a version of MPlayer that puts all unknown formats in an illegal program, which I did to get more qualified codec views and a chance to create a well edited set of config files MPlayer.

MPlayer receives the ‘-vc’ and ‘-ac’ signals from a human when it happens often (if necessary, the output will definitely not be recognized) and has an additional component to run company realplayer 8/9 :).

Thanks for the support; I was a loyal MPlayer user (Ogle for DVD : wink:) and I finally fiddled with it. Fully

Hello, I have installed 9 ubuntu.10 Koala) (karmic on PowerPC). I would love to use a computer as a media server, but so far I have not been able to get any video output, let alone record on a monitor (VLC, Totem). Unfortunately, the decoding works, the video is just necessary for the screen.

I have tried several video players including VLC, Standard Player Strip (Totem) Gnome, and MPlayer. MPlayer shows video output, but it is African and white, and its scaling is especially odd, which means it basically only shows about 10% of the frames on the horizontal axis.

When searching on google. com recommends that most people use the ppc codec device from the medibuntu repository. But it turns out that this does not exist for Karmic Koala, and the new version is for Hardy Heron and it is impossible (as far as I know) to install it on Karmic Koala.

I’m not a superuser, so maybe I didn’t do everything once.a lot because of this, but I don’t know where I could go wrong. I really hope someone can help me with this problem.

This is how I configured the medibunu codecs in the iMac group:

then get ppc full .deb codec pack for some other mp3 from medibuntu website:

Save them all in another convenient location and first install (libstdc ++ 5) using the GDebi Package Installer or from the command line.

It works on my “naughty” G4 iMac – it displays most formats well. The first event when I opened MP4 and video in Totem asked me to get a different codec for AAC, but I enabled Medibuntu-Repository during synaptic so the download went fine too.

-If MP3 playback is really bad, consider removing the impulse sound
-If YouTube is bad enough, consider using the Internet Explorer download extension instead of using the built-in player.
-I was unable to get VLC to work with 9.10, so it may need to uninstall clients to additionally use a different player.
-Manager composition / effects display distract from your attention Video Playbacks

VLC doesn’t work with ppc and you have to do it yourself (NOT)

I just installed it, keep that in mind – now VLC works great! This also fixed the installation issue I had with Gnome. Gnome definitely won’t mount my sheet music or DVD / CD – at least not more than once – KDE mounts discs automatically!

However for some reason I am having problems with gxine – the frame hangs on every coupe for a short period of time – wish I knew more about these things !!!

Sorry RandyVanBuren – ignore this follow-up comment – I just noticed that most people use Kubuntu – oh!

I’m not sure why VLC will probably work for me with Kubuntu after it won’t work with XFCE Gnome, possibly LXDE.

This is how I install some medibunu codecs on my imac desktop:

then get ppc .deborah codecs for mp3 file packages etc from their Medibuntu website:

Keep them all in one place and first install (libstdc ++ 5) using the GDebi package installer or from any command line.

  • It worked on my imac “lackluster” G4 desktop – reads formats practically well. The first time I opened an MP4 video in Totem, I was prompted to download a new codec for AAC, but I reached the Medibuntu repository enabled via Synaptic, so the download was successful and went fine, Mp3

-If the readings are bad, the sound pulse must be removed
-If YouTube etc. is often bad, consider downloading a Firefox add-on instead of using this built-in player.
-I was unable to get VLC to work with 9.10, so you should uninstall it and enjoy another player.
-Composition manager / display effects get in the way due to video playback

Brilliantly. Thanks for this. 🙂 I used at home an eMac (USB 2.0) on Ubuntu Lucid with no obvious problems. I had to implement libdvdcss2_12.10-0.2medibuntu1_powerpc.deb to have enough dependencies.

This is how I install all medibunu codecs on my iMac:

then get ppc .deb codecs for mp3 package etc on medibuntu site i would say:

Keep them all in one place, but also install (libstdc ++ 5) first with the installerbut from GDebi packages or from built-in controls.

It worked on my imac “dumb” G4 computer – it reads most types just fine. When I first became available in MP4, a video in Totem prompted me to download an additional codec for AAC, but then I included this Medibuntu repository in Synaptic, which downloaded correctly and did great things. Mp3

-If the readings are bad, consider the sound of the animal’s heart rate
-If YouTube etc. is negative, consider using a Firefox extension to download it instead of using the built-in player.
-I was unable to get VLC to work with 9.10, so you may need to uninstall it and use an additional player.
-Composition manager / display effects interfere with movie playback

Just wanting to say this could work for me on an imac G3 400DV indigo desktop with an alternate Ubuntu 10.04 installation.
