You should check out these repair ideas if you get Automator error code 1728.
Quick and Easy PC Repair
Some of you may have been familiar with connecting to Automator, Apple’s little automation program, when Mac OS X 10.4 “Tiger” was introduced. Well this is a great app, and besides, I use all of them. The current version for Macintosh PC X OS “10.6” is better than ever. Scanning photos of my ex-parents. I get dozens and hundreds of sometimes huge .TIFF image files. Using Automator, I can resize images, resize them in JPEG format and save them for the web without scanning the original to high resolution files.
But I encountered a strange error. Error code # -1728. It was clear. I add my photos to the workflow. I asked the PLC to resize the images by 50% and save them as JPG images. The machine gunner seemed to work, but then it ended. I am discouraged. I still had error # 1728. The only clue seemed to be the opaque dialog for such error “Don’t change image type again – error” 1 and “Unable to save
Then I got it. It was a classification business! I’ve added a forward slash (/) for the filename to some of the images I’ve read. Mac OS X will probably let you enter this file, but I think it’s not very smart when trying to edit or open files, especially in Automator. A lot of the things I renamed were my records. For “Scanned sample photo 40 (04/29/1994)” Automator would not exist … but once it was renamed “Scanned photo 35 (4-29-1994)” … a faded image means a fine. After the fix, everything went well! ™ ‚
Remember that if you run into a strange problem in Automator, please remove the forward slashes or other strange characters in the file providers. Good luck !

I have a problem with Automator and Keynote.
I want to show the entire Keynote presentation in images.
I use Get Content from Album as well as Media Export Items to Keynote. There are no errors in the log
Keynote, the following error appears.
-1728 Keynote error cannot get document “class pwid” from 1.
I would always be glad if someone could help.

In the end, this is a bug.
The actual Export Media to Keynote action dates back to 2015 because Keynote uses any internal term “pwid” and “phit” to denote the width and height of a presentation. In the meantime, he turned into Sith and Sith. So if this time you ask to “pay,” Keynote won’t know what to answer and will throw an error.
Not sure when this happened, but I’m guessing the following happened recently, otherwise it was probably already reported by then.
Either way, you can resolve the crisis by changing the baseline script to reflect the current nomenclature (Keynote promotions are usually just fancy AppleScripts under the hood), or you’ll need to run the script yourself to do it.
You should also report the bug to Apple, but this probably won’t have all the quick fixes.

The actual “Export Media to Keynote” action dates back to 2015, when Keynote used the internal keywords “pwid” and “phit” to specify a specific width and height for demonstration. At some point during the intervening years, this was changed to sitv and sith, so now when customers ask to pay, Keynote doesn’t know what to do and therefore throws an error.
I do not know when it happened, but I believe it was recently, otherwise this could already have been reported.
Anyway, to fix this problem, you can probably change the base script to reflect modern nomenclature (Keynote actions are mostly just AppleScripts under the hood), or you have to run your own script to do this.
You can also fix the bug at Apple, but there probably won’t be a quick fix.
